It’s usually met with extended silence, a few stutter steps and often ended with “I guess I don’t know.”

In the context of my research, it highlights the ever-changing roles in corporate America, and how easy it is to be self-siloed by the daily grind of repetitive work. The comfort of doing things “the way we’ve always done them” is an appealing path but hardly keeps pace with emerging technologies and the “gig economy” movement.

To quote Peter Diamandis, “if you don’t disrupt yourself, someone else will.”
